“ I know whenever my partner chooses a restaurant, we are going to try something new and it is usually a good experience. For starters we waited for a seat outside which as a gamble because of smokers, loud motor vehicles and bugs, but this late afternoon was perfect because all conditions were just right and the humidity was low. We started our meal with hot spinach roasted garlic and flour cheese dip, and the dry rub wings. I opted for the burger. There was also a sweet potato French fry oil coated dish, it was unique but pretty good. The good: the location, quaintness, good menus of varied items, service and vibeness, yes vibeness and a very walkable area. The other: my partner opted for the dry-rub wings, again, a risk, she normally goes for a sweet teriyaki. The wings were beautiful, large, well prepared but the dry coating contained too much spice. I ate one wing and my lips and mouth began tingle and the flavor maybe cardamom, or cumin maybe both just overtook both my senses and my partners. We waived a flag after that. That was disappointing because they presented so well on the plate. This was an outlier, everything else was delicious. Even our service was stellar. We shall return and eventually try the other style of wings, and walk up the street and get ice cream. Overall a good experience and a place to add to your list. ”

“ Provincial is one of the best kept secrets in the Triangle area. Not only is the menu is curated daily so you always have options, but it is farm to table. I have tried a number of items on the menu and I’ve NEVER been disappointed. From the moment you walk in the door, the staff are attentive and welcoming. The bartender, Jarrett, is an Alchemist and can have my palate any day. This is hands down one of my favorite establishments to have a great meal and cocktails. ”

“ Other than it being a little too loud (lower dining area is small) we had a great experience. Our server Roha was attentive and pleasant. The restaurant and bathroom was clean. We were a group of 4 and ordered a Calamari appetizer that came on top of Guacamole and had spicy cucumbers ...very good, the cheese tray... just ok. The Cheshire pork chops were soft, juicy and delicious, and the Scottish blackened salmon was great moist , flavorful , buttery. All in all a very enjoyable evening. ”

“ Hanger steak was excellent, as was the artichoke dip. NY sour was really good too. Farm to table concept. A lot of the specialty fish was sold out on a Saturday night so come early if you want new stuff on the menu. Very good meal. ”

“ Came in for appetizers and a cocktail or two, but as usual the restaurant was busy so we found two seats at the bar. We ordered the cheese plate and broccolini!! Wow! The broccolini was perfectly seasoned and was an absolute delight. The cheese plate included artisanal cheese that paired real well with her old fashioned and my Buffalo Trace on the rocks. Be sure to ask for Jarrett at the bar. He’s great and very knowledgeable. ”

“ Stopped in on Saturday evening to try The Provincial out as we’re moving to Apex in about a month. We chose to sit at the bar as we like to get to know the bartenders! We were so glad we did!! Joe was fabulous. Very entertaining and made my hubby a fabulous Manhattan! Food service was quick and the meal was fantastic! We had the goat cheese salad, spinach and ricotta gnocchi, chicken cutlets and fried blueberry pie to top it all off. Everything was delicious. Love that it’s locally farmed! We will most definitely be back!!! ”

“ This restaurant has been my favorite since it opened and I am shocked that I haven't submitted a review for it yet! Every time I walk in this restaurant, it's like a warm hug from friends. The food is phenomenal, the drinks are well balanced, and the staff literally couldn't be friendlier. I'm currently sitting at a table here tonight and the amount of people that walk in with staff calling them by name is incredible. New guests are greeted with warmth and excitement as if they're returning home. My wife and I come here a LOT and we have never had a bad experience! We have brought guests here time and time again and the same. Of course, every place will have an off night, but whenever anything wasn't perfect, the service made up for it to keep us happy. Some nights we grab a bunch of small plates and other nights we order from the large plates menu. No matter what, we ALWAYS order the goat cheese salad. Truly... This is a gem and not to be missed. Joe, you're our favorite, and I hope you never leave! ”
